İsmail Soysal was born in Gümüşhane in 1937. He completed primary school at
Fevzi Paşa Primary School and secondary school at Gümüşhane Secondary School,
a historical building built in the early 1800s, which was destroyed by fire. He
completed high school at Trabzon Boys' High School.
During high school, with the help of his art and painting teacher Kayhan Keskinok, he
learned the history of art, the principles of art movements, thinking in art,
interpretation, colours, shadows and lights, and the basic knowledge of almost
everything related to art. He completed his higher education at Istanbul University,
Faculty of Economics. At the end of 1996, he met the painter Teymur Rizaev's art
and painting visions and culture has broadened the perspective of İsmail Soysal.
Until today, his paintings have been exhibited in 34 group and personal exhibitions.
26 of them were solo exhibitions and almost all of them were held at Bakrac Art
Gallery.
