Dilek Deveci Bilgili, born in Istanbul in 1972, completed her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at Istanbul University and finished the postgraduate programme of Preservation of Cultural Heritage at Kadir Has University. Within this program, she researched the 16th century creations of Mimar Sinan, the five mosques, and the golden ratio of their window-belt apertures. Between 2001-2015, she taught mathematics, and from 2010-2012 she was positioned as the Historical Artifacts Coordinator at Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.


In 2012, she attended UNESCO’s ‘‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’’ event in Eskişehir as a representative, as well as serving as a consultant at the AR-GE and AB Cultural Art projects. She completed her postgraduate education on Miniature Studies at İstanbul Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University with a thesis titled “The Analysis of the ‘Deli’ Figure in Ottoman Miniatures”. The artist, under the guidance of Semih İrteş and Mamure Öz, began her classes on illuminated transcripts. Later in 2012, by taking Taner Alakuş’s miniature courses, she was introduced to this form of art.
