Işıl Özışık was born in Kırklareli in 1939. He graduated from Ankara University, Department of Archaeology and Art History and completed his master's program at Middle East Technical University, Department of Construction and Restoration, Faculty of Architecture. After a 3-year period as an archaeology assistant, the artist completely devoted himself to painting, while also working professionally as an art director in the field of advertising.
Although Işıl Özışık continues to paint with all kinds of materials, he is recognized as one of the leading artists of watercolor painting in our country. His paintings are dominated by the themes of rain and snow, the nature of Istanbul and Washington D.C., whose nature he is in love with.
The artist has held over a hundred solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad and his works are in the collections of private and public institutions and organizations in Turkey and abroad. The artist is a permanent member of The Washington Society of Landscape Painters. He participates in all exhibitions organized by the association in the USA.
